Bay of Isles used to have two islands open to visit the colonies of breeding wandering albatrosses. Albatross island is now closed and only the small colony at Prion Island is open forvisiting tourists.
Wandering Albatross is listed as Vulnerable on the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) list .
